Manikchand Pahade Law College, Aurangabad, is set to host the XXIV National Moot Court Competition offline from February 24 to 25, 2024.

About the Competition

Scheduled for February 24-25, 2024, the XXIV National Moot Court Competition will consist of Preliminary, Semi-Final, and Final rounds. Eligible participants include students pursuing a five-year BA.LL.B. or a three-year LL.B. degree.

About the Organizer

Founded on the eve of the state’s reorganization, Marathwada Legal & General Education Society established Manikchand Pahade Law College. Affiliated with Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Marathwada University and Bar Council of India, it occupies a significant place in the educational circle of Marathwada. Currently offering LL.B. Three Years, BA.LL.B. Five Years, and LL.M. with specializations in Constitutional Law, Criminal Law, and Business Law.

Eligibility Criteria

Students studying for a five-year BA.LL.B. degree or a three-year LL.B. degree can apply.

Prizes

  • Winner Team: Cash Prizes of Rs. 7000/- and Late Adv. Shri. Sudhakar Rao Deshmukh Trophy.
  • Runner-Up Team: Cash Prizes of Rs. 5000/- and Late Adv. Shri. Sudhakar Rao Deshmukh Trophy.
  • Individual Prizes & Trophies:
    • Late Adv. Shri L. N. Sirsamkar: Best Petitioner from Final Round – Cash Prizes of Rs. 2000/- and Trophy.
    • Best Respondent from Final Round – Cash Prizes of Rs. 2000/- and Trophy from College.
    • Late Adv. Shri. Sudhakar Rao Deshmukh Trophy for Best Mooter in all Rounds.
    • Ghate Foundation, Aurangabad: Best Mooter Trophy for Preliminary Round.
    • Best Memorial Prize for Final Round from the College.

Registration Process

For the XXIV National Moot Court Competition 2024, participants are required to adhere to the following registration process:

  1. Submission of Memorials:
    • All participating teams must submit both soft and hard copies of their written memorials/ submissions for both rounds and both sides before the specified due date.
    • Memorials should be typed/computerized, following the specified guidelines.
  2. Memorial Formatting Guidelines:
    • Memorials must adhere to the following specifications:
      • Typed on A4 size paper with a 1-inch margin on all sides.
      • Font: “Times New Roman,” Font Size: 12, Line Spacing: 1.5.
      • Font size for footnotes/endnotes: 10.
      • Should not exceed 25 pages (excluding the cover page).
      • Cover page must contain Team Code in bold uppercase at the upper right-side corner.
      • No student, college/university name, or any form of identification other than Team Code should be included.
      • Differently colored cover pages for Petitioner (Grey) and Respondent (Blue).
      • Use chart paper instead of plastic sheets or transparencies; cotton thread stitches for binding instead of spiral binding.
      • Memorials not following these specifications will be disqualified.
  3. Submission Address:
    • Each team must send three hard copies of memorials for each side of both rounds, along with the Compendium (if any), to the organizing college at the following address within the prescribed schedule: The Principal, Manikchand Pahade Law College, Samarth Nagar, Chh. Sambhajinagar, Aurangabad – 431 001 (M.S.)
  4. Soft Copy Submission:
    • Participants should send the soft copies of memorials to the following email ID within the specified schedule: Email ID: mplcmootproblem@gmail.com.

Each Team shall have to pay a registration fee of Rs. 3000.00 (Three Thousand Rupees only) online on the following details.
