About the Competition

The GNLU International Moot Court Competition (GIMC) initiated in 2009 aims to provide a global platform for testing the legal acumen of law students. Over a decade, GIMC has been a unique opportunity for students to delve into international trade law, refining their research and advocacy skills.

About the Organizer

Established in 2003, Gujarat National Law University (GNLU) is committed to promoting excellence in legal education and research. It conducts in-house moot court competitions, sending meritorious students to national and international events. The university hosts two annual moots: the GNLU International Moot Court Competition and the GNLU Moot on Securities and Investment Law.

Eligibility Criteria

The GNLU International Moot Court Competition is open to all students enrolled on a regular basis in undergraduate or postgraduate law courses, or their equivalent, conducted by any recognized College, Institution, or University.

Team Composition

For the GNLU International Moot Court Competition, each team must consist of a minimum of two members and a maximum of three members.

Awards & Prizes

Prizes for GNLU International Moot Court Competition 2024:

  • Winning Team: Trophy + INR 50,000 (cash prize)
  • Runner-Up Team: Trophy + INR 25,000 (cash prize)
  • Best Written Submissions: Trophy + INR 10,000 (cash prize)
  • 2nd Best Written Submissions: Trophy
  • Best Orator in the Preliminary Rounds: Trophy + INR 10,000 (cash prize)
  • 2nd Best Orator in the Preliminary Rounds: Trophy
  • Best Orator in the Final Round: Trophy + INR 10,000 (cash prize)
  • Best Researcher: Trophy + INR 10,000 (cash prize)
  • 2nd Best Researcher: Trophy

Registration Fee

  • Fee: INR 5,000 per Team

Payment Methods:

  • Indian Teams: Payment by Demand Draft or Online Transfer using the Link available HERE.
  • International Teams: Payment by Bank Transfer, following the procedure outlined in the Rules of the Competition.

Important Dates

  • Last day for provisional registration: January 3, 2024
  • Last day for registration and completion of all formalities: January 20, 2024
  • Last day to apply for clarifications regarding the Moot Problem: December 10, 2023
  • Clarifications, if any, to be published: January 8, 2024
  • Last day for submitting the soft copy of the Written Submission: February 7, 2024
  • Last day for submitting the hard copy of the Written Submission: February 12, 2024
